Position: Information Security Analyst
Type: Full Time
Location: Northern VA and via telework
Summary
INTER-OP is currently seeking an Information Security Analyst to provide support to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the principal law enforcement agency charged with enforcement of U.S. import trade policies at the nation's borders. CBP is mandated by law to detect, investigate and interdict smuggling of prohibited articles and other contraband.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.
- Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure.
- Respond to computer security breaches and viruses.
- Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
- Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
- Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met. Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management.
Qualifications / Experience
- Possess 5+ years of hands-on experience in detecting, monitoring, and remediating various aspects of cybersecurity, including software security, network security, and platform security.
- Real-world experience in performing compliance control testing, identification, and resolution of cybersecurity issues, and developing recommendations to minimize cybersecurity risk.
- Currently have a bachelor's or master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information Technology. A master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience of 10+ years in performing compliance control testing, identification, and resolution of cybersecurity issues, and developing recommendations to minimize cybersecurity risk will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
- Shall have one or more of the following professional certifications:
- Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP)
- EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker
- CompTIA Security Analytics Expert
