Position: Pharmacist – Pharmacy Oncology Coordinator – Johnson City, TN/onsite
Department: Hematology/Oncology Service Line
Salary: 100,000-$140,000 and flexible
Position Summary: The Pharmacy Oncology Coordinator oversees medication use in the Hematology/Oncology Service Line, developing guidelines and policies. They collaborate with committees, manage formulary, and contribute to drug-related tasks. The role includes monitoring trends for stewardship opportunities, implementing action plans, and engaging in professional development while mentoring staff and students in ASHP accredited residency programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Oversee medication utilization within the Oncology patient population.
- Develop and support medication use guidelines, policies, and protocols.
- Support the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Subcommittees with formulary management and oversight.
- Facilitate committee work and develop drug monographs, MUEs, formulary reviews, and pharmacoeconomic analyses.
- Monitor external trends and strategies to identify opportunities for medication stewardship.
- Execute and track progress of action plans to optimize medication use.
- Engage in professional self-development and participate in scholarly and professional activities.
- Mentor pharmacy staff, students, and residency program participants.
Education and Experience Requirements: - Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy with an advanced Pharmacy degree.
- PGY-2 in Oncology and PGY-1 with experience in drug use policy or formulary management.
- Advanced skills in literature evaluation and project management.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in oncology practice preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: - Valid and active Pharmacist licensure in Tennessee.
- Valid and active Oncology certification (BCOP).
- CPR certification required.
