Job description

Position : Waterpark Operations Manager

Reports to : General Manager

Supervises : Rocky Bottom Supervisor, Waterpark Operations Supervisors, and Head Guards

Position Summary : Responsible for planning, development, operation, cleanliness, guest services, labor cost controls, and achieving revenue targets of Breaker Bay Waterpark, Pier Fun Zone Arcade and Mini Golf, Rocky Bottom Snack Bar and seasonal outdoor pool operations. Oversees, staffing, training, scheduling, and in service operations ensuring all standards are maintained. Oversees all safety programming within the park and throughout Blue Harbor resort.

Duties

• Ensures that all safety standards are met or exceeded according to Ellis and Associates, and liability insurance carrier.
• Directly supervises the supervisory and management team so that lifeguard performance meets standards.
• Approves all work schedules weekly.
• Manages reporting personnel so that Resort standards in regards to payroll administration, vacation and personal leave policies and annual reviews are followed.
• Plans and manages training program.
• Works with Rocky Bottom Supervisor ensuring that proper food and beverage control standards are met in conjunction with Director of Food & Beverage and Controller.
• Must work with other Managers, especially Food & Beverage.
• A member of and participates in the Resort’s Manager on Duty schedule.
• Drives innovative initiatives that increase revenue of the park that work in conjunction with the overall Resort’s sales and marketing objectives.
• Maintain the highest level of professionalism in appearance and actions representing the Resort.
• Conducts appropriate safety audits.
• Conducts regular inspections of the park assuring that maintenance and housekeeping standards are met.
• Fills in to support staff as necessary.
• Works with Controller and General Manager to prepare annual operating plan and budget for the department.
• Follows Resort policies on purchasing, inventory, and risk management.
• Responds to guest inquiries and handles guest communication of both a positive and negative nature through the Director of Guest Services.
• Manages Resort’s emergency evacuation procedures and Resort safety programs.
• Handles documentation and communication of all accidents to the appropriate insurance carrier keeping Human Resources informed of any issues that result in potential liability issues.
• Conducts regular department meetings and maintains proper communication standards within their team.
• Remains current on industry trends, technological advancements and industry operating standards resulting in current and innovative programming.

Qualifications

• Must pass and maintain appropriate lifeguard and water safety certification programs at level required to conduct certified life guard training.
• Must be physically able to swim on an advanced level and remain on feet for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds
