Job Role: Technical writer

Location: Fairfax, VA (Onsite)

Duration: 6 months contract

Job Description:

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation to support our mission. Work involves documenting as-is and to-be versions of:
On premise and cloud architectures and data flows
Process and procedures
Production change plans
Training documentation

This involves engaging in conversations with engineers, developers, project managers, executives, security personnel to piece together undocumented thoughts and present them, iteratively, as discovery tools for establishing and maintain the appropriate level of systems documentation, procedures, policies, settings, training, and troubleshooting actions.

This work requires the exercise of independent judgement and decision.

Minimum Requirements:

Combination of work experience, technical certifications, vocational or college writing training to establish appropriate skill in both technical context and ability to generate solid work product.
Proven working experience in technical writing (provide writing samples).
Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail.
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
Excellent written skills in English
Established proficiency in Microsoft office. Strong preference for experience with Google Docs, Atlassian Confluence, and with Lucidchart.
