Product Manager
Our client, a software development company, is looking for a Product Manager to join their team.
LOCATION: Mountain View, CA. This is a hybrid role. The team comes in Monday, Wednesday and Thursday with a very flexible start and end time to accommodate traffic and personal responsibilities (i.e. child care).
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: The heart of a Product Manager’s job is to translate requirements into feature definitions and models that the development team can implement in the product. You will have the detailed functional knowledge necessary so you can explain feature requirements to developers. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys heavy collaboration, technology and delivering software products that users love. You’ll need to be comfortable in a fast paced environment, able to work at both a user and systems level, and have a strong focus on outcomes.
This position will report, initially, to their Co-Founder. As the company grows and scales, you will report to the Sr. Product Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Translate market and customer needs into product requirements and definitions
- Ensure product is built to support underlying accounting principles and processes
- Collaborate with design on feature ideas and prototypes to bring potential solutions to life
- Collaborate with development and other members of the PM team to guide feature development and prioritization
- Work closely with QA to ensure we maintain adequate coverage on acceptance and regression testing
- Assist the documentation team with customer facing documentation of the features
- Communicate business value of specific product capabilities to executive management and sales
- Maintain a general understanding of the current financial software market and competitors
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Minimum of five years of experience. Preferably two to three years public accounting experience with an additional two to three years experience in a corporate accounting or finance role.
- Direct experience with financial software and an understanding of accounting processes
- Enthusiastic about new technology and its transformational abilities
- Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation
- No PM experience required!
COMPENSATION:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $140,000 - $165,000. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
