Job description
Manage the GTC's Electronic Maintenance (EM) Field program. Provides work direction and technical guidance to the field staff for day-to-day operations supporting the Family of Companies (FOC) Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Telecommunication & Fiber Optic Network, and Remote Revenue Metering systems. Takes the lead role in coordination, documentation, and implementation of GTC's Cybersecurity compliance initiatives for NERC and other standards. Provides oversight for field activities related to EM projects for operations and maintenance. Maintains a highly qualified and motivated workforce and actively evaluates associates' performance and development, thereby promoting an environment of safety and continuous improvement. Maintains annual budget and monitors expenditures to comply with the approved budget.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering Technology
Experience: Eight (8) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering within the utility industry for electrical power. Three (3) years or more of supervisory/leadership experience. This experience should include the coordination of field and office operations, which support Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems, telecommunications systems located within the substations and in-house, and revenue metering systems for measuring distribution power as retrieved from the transmission grid. The desired experience must also include first-hand knowledge of computer networking, database management, utility protocols, and topologies. Project management and strong oral and written communication skills are key for this position.
Equivalent Experience: Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology and/or Telecommunications with knowledge of 3-phase power systems with twelve (12) years of direct experience with increasing responsibilities.
Licenses/Certifications: Georgia Driver's License, PE (preferred).
Specialized Skills: Working knowledge of utility protocols, SCADA, servers, databases, and substation operations.
Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
