Aerotek's client is looking for Controls Installers that are open to traveling across the country.
Description:
- The role of Controls Installer entails working on-site, operating under the direct supervision of the site superintendent, in close collaboration with a team of professionals.
- The primary objective is to facilitate the installation of low-voltage building automation and HVAC control systems within commercial structures. This role requires a high level of expertise, professionalism, and dedication to ensure the efficient and reliable installation of complex building automation systems in military installations. Your contributions are critical to the success of our projects, and we always expect the highest standards of performance and safety.
- Key Responsibilities: As a Controls Installer, your core responsibilities encompass:
- Travel: Traveling to multiple states to preform work at various military installations
- Conduit Installation: Installation of conduit up to 1" EMT & Rigid
- Cabling and Sensor Installation: Installation of low-voltage cabling and sensors
- Control Panel Installation: Installation of low-voltage control panels
- Wiring and termination: Wiring and termination of low-voltage control panels and associated devices
- Qualifications: To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Installation Experience: A proven track record with a minimum of 1-3 years in conduit and wire installation within a commercial seƫting is essential. The ability to demonstrate a mastery of these skills is highly valued.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints is a fundamental requirement to ensure precision in the installation process.
- Mobility: A willingness to travel full-time is crucial, as this role necessitates engagement at various locations.
- Driving Record: Holding a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory to maintain the safety standards upheld by our organization.
- Preferred Experience & Qualifications: Although not mandatory, the following experience is preferred:
- Installation of commercial building automation and HVAC controls systems
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Vocational School four year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field plus three years of industry experience or ten-plus years’ experience in servicing mechanical equipment control systems in the HVAC industry.
- Systems integration and development work on Niagara / Tridium based systems (i.e. AX Supervisor, JACE) is a plus.
- General required knowledge includes commercial controls systems, facilities management systems, energy management practices, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Spectrum Solutions to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
- Leadership skills to support the activities of Technicians working on complex, critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
- PC experience required and the ability to program facility automation controls related software. AutoCAD or similar experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
