Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

BRP Marine is seeking an Engineering Technician to help develop the next generation of boats and engines. The job responsibilities include fabrication and assembly of prototypes, testing of components, acquisition of data combined with basic analysis, and supervision of on-water testing. The job is based in Sturtevant, WI with seasonal responsibility of test supervision in Fox Lake, IL.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to independently run tests on components, sub-systems and complete vehicles.

Responsible for solving problems with limited direction.

Document development work, analyze data, create and share basic technical reports.

Responsible for operation of data acquisition hardware and software.

Develop and fabricate components and test fixtures when needed.

Interface with customers and dealers to diagnose and address issues in the field.

Ability to rig boats & engines and maintain vehicle test fleet.

Maintain a functional, safe and productive working environment.

Participate in design reviews.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES


Required:
Associate’s Degree and 2 years experience or 6 years of relevant experience

Experienced boater; Able to safely launch and operate a boat in all conditions.

Previous Welding and Fabrication experience

Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) with the ability to interface with data acquisition software and hardware.


Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years experience or 8 years of relevant experience

Mig and Tig welding experience

Previous experience leading teams of vehicle testers
