Job description
Sheet Metal Fabricator
Shift: 1st shift, 7am-3:30pm M-F
Pay: $20-$22/hour based on experience
Location: Kentwood, MI
Job Summary-
Responsible to build custom engineered HVAC equipment in a shop environment utilizing equipment construction skills and knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
Job Duties-
- Interpret engineering blueprints
- Measure meticulously and plan well to reduce waste
- Mark cutting and bending lines
- Set up metalwork machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes and shears
- Fabricate and construct metal components
- Grind and finish completed products
- Perform quality checks on completed products
- Program robotic machines and computers
- Follow all safety regulations
- Maintain records
- Responsible for building custom equipment on assigned projects.
- Attends, contributes to, and/or leads meetings with team members, salesmen, customers, and management as needed.
- Follows company standards for construction and quality.
- Follows company safety policies.
- Promotes company safety policies to team members and subcontractors.
- Provides technical support to customers when required on assigned projects.
- Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
- Flexibility to occasionally work in other company departments when needed.

Educaiton and/or Experience-
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and five (5) years related experience; or seven (7) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years fabricating or machine building experience required.
- Two (2) years HVAC experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software preferred.
