Job description
The Financial Assistant is responsible under the direction of the controller for accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant expense management, and internal audits. A personable demeanor, attention to detail, & patience is needed to ensure that the accounting department supports NEWCC in serving the uninsured and underserved in Brown County.
- Accounts payable: records and pays bills of the company including purchase order processes.
- Accounts receivable: collect cash receipts from clinics and ensure funds are substantiated.
- Internal audit: assist with internal audit of NEWCC's sliding discount program.
- Manage patient ledgers and monthly statements.
- Perform internal audits of the sliding fee discount plan for self-pay patients.
- Manage release of information requests.
- Work insurance claims denial management.
- Credentialing with insurance payor sources.
- Other duties as assigned.
