Import Logistics Manager
Burano Home Collective is a family-owned company headquartered in Portsmouth NH, seeking the right candidate for our Import Logistics Manager role. We design, source, and manufacture everything that we sell, which allows us to deliver the best products at the best prices to our customers. Responsibilities - Manage and oversee all imports into the country
- Work closely with customs brokers, steamship lines, truckers, vendors and customers in monitoring and tracking shipments/deliveries throughout the lifecycle of shipments
- Be the primary contact for freight forwarders, gather quotes and negotiate rates
- Help formulate and implement improved processes and procedures to enhance communication and streamline operations
- Work closely with sales, planning, and warehouse managers to ensure inventory is being received in a timely manner for smooth operations
- Collaborate with company executives on freight handling, contract negotiation and delivery route planning
- Oversee the vendor payment process to ensure timely release of cargo and visibility to future cash flow
- Reconcile inventory receipt records and adjust ERP system for discrepancies as necessary
- Manage the inventory delivery process to several dropship customers around the country
- Prepare documentation (ocean bill of lading, invoice, packing list) for drop shipments
- Manage and coach logistics and wholesale sales team
- Perform other logistics duties as necessary
Skills & Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years in a logistics role
- Supervisory experience
- Proven organizational, problem solving, and time management skills for this fast-paced department
- Proven ability to handle high volumes and meet deadlines
- Competent knowledge of customs regulations and US import operational procedures
- Exceptional leadership and influencing skills with the willingness to be a team player
- Willingness to manage and coach direct-reports for their growth
- Knowledge of wholesale and e-commerce businesses, a plus
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Experience with ERP systems and WMS
- JASCI/NetSuite experience, a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, International Business or equivalent work experience
Schedule Requirements - Monday – Friday first shift
- Hybrid Schedule
Work Location Physical Requirements - Able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time while performing duties
- Must be capable of lifting up-to 10lbs
