Schedule: Must have availability to work between the hours of 6AM-7:30PM, Monday-Friday
Type: Contract-to-hire
Pay: $17-$23/hr
Location: Clermont , FL but must be able to travel as far as Ocoee, FL if needed
We are looking for a Medical Assistant who has
allergy or ENT/Pulmonology experience for one of our clients. The candidate must have reliable transportation to travel from their Orlando/Ocoee offices when needed, and must have a valid Driver's License. Duties include conducting Scratch testing, PPT testing, and PFT testing. Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus. Must have taken a state exam for MA or 5 years of experience equivalent. MUST BE CPR CERTIFIED. CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF THEY DO NOT MEET THESE REQUIREMENTS.

- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedure
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Be familiar with allergic diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis etc.
- Be familiar with sequelae of allergic diseases such as sinusitis, ear infections, and chronic bronchitis.
- Perform skin tests: scratch, prick and intradermal, read & record results.
- Administer allergy injections/Flu/MMR/Varivax/Pneumo/TD vax, therapeutic injection.
- Perform pulmonary function tests: take vitals and record them.
- Teach various different inhalers, nasal sprays, spacers and nebulizer medications.
- Teach peak flow monitoring and recording.
- Be informed and learn the dosage on the various allergy/nasal/asthma medications that we use.
- Be informed on preventive measures- environment controls to decrease allergen exposure.
- Be informed of food allergy questions (will need to ask the providers first until very sure).
- Be able to advise management of atopic dermatitis with moisturizers and skin care.
- Perform apply/read and record patch test for contact dermatitis.
- Send ERX enter data accordingly into EMR.
- Special testing, food challenge, rhinoscopy, biopsy, patch testing PFT, Pulmone, FENO.
- Perform various special skin tests to include Venom and drugs.
- Draw blood occasionally- IV push of HAE medications, Biologic injections.
- Have a full understanding of syringe measurements, cc/ml.
- Hold CPR certification, anaphylactic protocol, anaphylaxis, and acute asthma exacerbations. MA-Nurses must be prepared to give adrenalin injections and provide Oxygen.
- Read provider handwriting and translate orders for patients.
Experience: - 3 years of Medical Assisting experience required
- 3 years of Allergy/Asthma experience preferred
- 3 years of ENT or pulmonology experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred
- Must have taken Medical Assistant state exam or 5 years of experience equivalent
