VitalCheck Wellness is seeking a committed and compassionate Registered Nurse with occupational health experience to support the Office of Medical Services for private business in Jersey City, NJ . We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to create a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assessments in connection with injury on duty evaluations, which includes obtaining doctors' notes and test results.
- Scheduling appointments for fitness for duty evaluations.
- Conduct pre-placement physicals and annual physical evaluations.
- Participation in employee health wellness and safety fairs at various New York and New Jersey facilities and provide services including blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol screenings.
- Answer telephone calls and retrieve voicemail messages and respond accordingly.
- Monitor Medical Assistants to ensure appropriate tests are administered, as required by DOT.
- Review paperwork for accuracy and completion for the Physician or the Physician's Assistant evaluation.
- Ensure that all new hires are evaluated/assessed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Active RN license in NJ. Would be a big plus if licensed both NJ and NY.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in performing nursing assessments in occupational health, will also consider surgical nursing experience.
- Familiar with OSHA standards.
- Familiar with DOT Physical Exam.
- Must be proficient with computers, customer service-oriented, and able to work independently.
- BLS Certification.
- Customer service-oriented, able to work independently , have great 'bedside' manner.
- Proficient with computers and documenting in EMR systems.
- Must be up to date with Covid-19 vaccines including booster vaccine.
- Occasional availability to work on a Saturday for company events.
