Job description

Martin Baker America, Inc., the US division of the world leader in ejection and crashworthy seats, is looking for a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in support of the Crashworthy program.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing designs that meet customer requirements, relevant engineering specifications, including international and US military standards, and Martin Baker Aircraft design and process requirements. You will also work with the production, quality, and procurement teams to improve the design manufacturability of existing seat parts and components.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent from Accredited Program
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks
• Knowledge of engineering analysis tools
• Familiarity with engineering documentation, such as drawings, specifications, reports, and manuals
• Ability to produce a variety of documents including engineering reports, e.g. CE marking technical files, load and stress reports, Mass Reports, Costed BOMs, DFMEAs etc
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel to the UK for extended periods in the first year of employment as well as ongoing, occasional travel to support customer meetings and testing activities
