Job description
As the Head of Compensation & HRIS for a highly regarded university in Boston, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing comprehensive Total Rewards programs while overseeing compensation strategies that attract, retain, and motivate our diverse workforce and HRIS initiatives and enable work to be done easier. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a specialization in both Compensation and HR Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation Leadership:
- Lead the design and administration of effective compensation programs.
- Conduct regular compensation reviews to ensure equity, fairness, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and university leaders to align compensation strategies with organizational objectives.
- Develop and execute a strategic framework aligned with the university's mission and values.
- Design, implement, and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top-tier talent.
- Analyze market trends and conduct benchmarking to ensure our compensation packages remain competitive within the higher education sector.
HRIS Modernization:
- Spearhead the modernization of HR processes through the strategic implementation and optimization of HRIS systems.
- Harness technology to streamline compensation and benefits administration, enhance employee experience, and drive data-informed decision-making.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for HRIS systems, utilizing technology to enhance compensation processes and drive efficiencies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize analytical tools and methodologies to extract meaningful insights from compensation data.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership, providing insights into compensation trends, cost analysis, and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Stay abreast of relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure the university's compensation practices comply with legal requirements.
- Mitigate risks associated with compensation and benefits through proactive auditing and compliance measures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Compensation, with an added focus on HRIS a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing compensation team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
