Primary Responsibilities
The driver for the Esplanade at Palisades LLC, responsibilities include driving the residents daily to their desired destinations within in reason and arranging regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle, planning each route based on road and traffic conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities - Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient trip.
- Pick up residents form the place and at the time they requested unless otherwise specified.
- Assist residents with opening doors, and loading and unloading their luggage/baggage.
- Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions.
- Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed and able.
- Answer residents' questions about the area and local places of interest.
- Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders.
- Schedule regular vehicle maintenance and report issues.
- Maintain vehicle equipment; filling gas tank with fuel, general motor vehicle maintenance as needed for safety.
- Book car wash and detailing services to maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the car.
- Have Valid Drivers License and/or CDL.
- Must be over the age of eighteen (18).
- Familiar with GPS and how to use it.
- Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
- Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and sit for long periods of time during daily routine.
- Be polite and professional.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations (e.g., rush hour traffic, other drivers' aggressiveness "Road Rage").
- Coordinate and Communicate events and appointments with the social worker and the recreation department.
Requirements
> Must have a valid driver's license and/or CDL-Bus. r Attend driving training and required renewal programs and classes.
Housekeeping-As assigned, to be completed in the absence of driving assignments and when a housekeeping employee is absent or off (paid-time off).
Primary Responsibilities
Undertake cleaning in areas as directed to ensure resident apartments, common areas bathrooms, corridors, overall Esplanade at Palisades LLC facility is kept in a clean and hygienic condition in order to provide a professional and customer friendly service to the Residents, visitors, employees of the Esplanade at Palisades LLC.
Duties and Responsibilities
Cleaning & Disinfecting Part I
- To clean resident apartments, bathrooms, common areas, corridors, business offices and associated areas as per outlined standards.
- To maintain security of apartments and contents.
- Responsible for a set of keys and for ensuring the security and integrity of areas of cleaning.
- Report maintenance issues as per procedures.
- Clean domestic (country kitchen & employee breakroom) kitchens including surfaces, large and small equipment, including microwave, ovens, fridges, and freezers; to dispose of refuse.
- To store linen, handle outgoing soiled linen and incoming clean linens.
- To make beds and change bedding in resident rooms.
- To maintain environment; deep clean carpeted and non
carpeted areas, soft furnishings, and bedding; fixtures and fittings; windows and walls; maintain storage areas.
- To operate machinery as required.
- To work within relevant legislation, polices, procedures, protocols, and regulations.
- To participate in the Annual Performance Development Review Process.
Duties and Responsibilities Cleaning & Disinfecting Part XI Many of the employees in a senior living facility; Esplanade at Palisades LLC, are considered "Universal Workers" and are responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of residents' apartment units in addition to caring their residents. Most senior living staff have responsibilities that are scheduled daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and on a yearly basis. Much of the cleaning is done during the day. Laundry service is provided by housekeepers. When providing laundry services, you are to collect resident laundry, wash, dry, and fold and place clean laundry in residents apartment, on their bed. Payment for this service is collected through the Payroll and accounting Coordinator. Staff must be aware that some residents will want to use their own cleaning agents, and this is allowed as long as the Director of Housekeeping is informed and approves it.
The director of housekeeping has a written or typed schedule for housekeeping and maintenance tasks. Cleaning and maintenance chemicals used in the Esplanade at Palisades LLC fall under the rules of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration also known as OSHA. OSHA is very specific in these regulations, which are highlighted in the following sections.
Section 1: Cleaning Schedules
Housekeeping employees are tasked with responsibilities, keeping areas and units clean. The position requires ergonomics as follows.
> Bending, lifting, turning, pushing towards & away, pulling towards & away, standing for long periods of time, kneeling, and squatting.
Concepts to Consider:
- One resident may want his/her apartment unit cleaned three times a week while another resident only wants his/her linens changed once a week, noting more, cleaning schedules need to take what the resident want into consideration.
- Independence: If a resident does not want housekeeping services but ask to borrow the vacuum because he or she wants to remain as independent as possible, this should be accommodated.
- Privacy: Before entering an apartment unit to clean, staff are to knock, inform the resident who you are, and ask permission to come in so they do not startle the resident or invade his or her privacy.
- Individuality and dignity: adherence to these various cleaning schedules contributes to each resident's sense of dignity by allowing them to maintain choice, independence, and privacy.
- A homelike environment: Policies and procedures are established that address all areas of the community to create an overall homelike environment that reaches beyond the resident's unit.
- Adhere and enforce policies, procedures, protocols, and regulations as indicated in the Employee Handbook.
- Carry-out directives given by the Super and/or assist super in duties including the use of the fogging machine when scheduled to do so.
- Assist super when needed or available with task(s) that need to be completed by outside contractors; bring
contractors to designated work area(s); set up a signs, or cones to alert staff and residents on construction, or any hazards.
