Job description
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team. As a Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety within our plastic packaging facilities. Your main duties will include ensuring compliance with safety regulations, implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, providing training, investigating incidents, and promoting a culture of safety among employees. Job Specifications:
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Mansfield, MA
Pay Rate: $32-$36 per hour / salary based on experience
Shift: 3:00pm-11pm Monday-Friday with weekend coverage as needed
Roles and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards, as well as company policies and procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, covering topics such as proper equipment usage, emergency procedures, and hazard awareness.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Develop and update safety policies and procedures in collaboration with management, keeping them aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Promote a culture of safety by communicating regularly with employees, providing guidance on safe work practices, and encouraging active participation in safety initiatives.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure that all employees are trained to respond effectively to emergencies.
Lead or participate in the safety committee, fostering collaboration and engagement among members to address safety concerns and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA 30 Hour) is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in the plastics or packaging industry.
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards, particularly OSHA requirements.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others to prioritize safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
