Job description
Team Elmer's seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts. Summer employment is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of photography/videography while working for a well-known 100% employee owned Northern Michigan heavy highway construction company. - Use traditional or digital cameras, iphone, Capcut, and Canva along with a variety of equipment such as tripods, filters, and flash attachments.
- Create social content in the form of pictures, reels, short videos, etc.
- Operate still or video cameras or related equipment. Direct activities of interviewees.
- Determine desired images and picture composition, selecting and adjusting subjects, equipment, and lighting to achieve desired effects.
- Develop fresh story ideas.
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics
- Manage information, archive information, maintain a database
- Prepare agendas and conduct research
- Confer with clients to determine needs and gather media release forms
- Obtain copyrights or other legal permissions
- Monthly and sometimes weekly analytic reports from social sites/Google, etc.
- Set up still or video cameras or related equipment. Be able to lift equipment up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs rarely.
- Transfer photographs to computers for editing, archiving, and electronic transmission.
- Review sets of photographs to select the best work.
- Maintain records, documents, or other files.
- Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products.
- Take pictures of individuals, crews, and small groups, primarily on location in Northern Michigan. (Valid Drivers license required)
- Perform maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment working properly.
- Assist Marketing and Communications Department in event planning and execution.
- Other duties as assigned

- Hourly part-time/summer position ranging from $18-$20 per hour depending on skill set. Training is provided by fellow employees in some areas. Housing negotiable.
- Requires 25-50 hours per week, primarily Monday-Saturday, occasional Sundays and night work, hours are negotiable.
- Portfolio is required at time of application
