Job Title: SUE Tech III

Astra Surveying is a rapidly growing full service surveying company specializing mostly in construction. We are currently seeking an experienced SUE Tech III to join our team. As an SUE Tech III, you will play a crucial role in conducting Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) surveys by operating various utility locating equipment, including vacuum excavation equipment, EM (electromagnetic locator equipment), and GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar).

Responsibilities:

• Operate vacuum excavation equipment safely and efficiently to expose underground utilities.
• Utilize EM and GPR equipment to accurately locate and map underground utilities.
• Work closely with SUE Crew Leaders and other team members to conduct surveys according to project requirements.
• Assist in compiling field data and preparing electronic reports.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain equipment in proper working condition and report any issues to supervisors.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or project managers.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in utility locating and SUE surveys.
• Proficiency in operating vacuum excavation equipment, EM, and GPR.
• Knowledge of utility locating techniques and best practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain types.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
