Job description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sales Engineer to join our Commercial Connector team in the Bay Area. We are a designer and manufacturer of electronic connectors and interconnect solutions for a variety of applications including medical devices, consumer electronics, wearables, handhelds, and more.
Position Overview: The Sales Engineer will work closely with the sales and engineering teams to identify and develop solutions to meet customer requirements. It is essential that the candidate be comfortable working in both technical and sales environments and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing customer requirements and designing solutions to meet their needs
- Developing technical presentations, training, and documentation for clients
- Maintaining a high level of technical knowledge on our commercial connector products
- Meet and exceed yearly sales goals
- Identify and expand relationships at key accounts within territory
- Produce a call plan once a week based on, but not limited to, the following criteria: Open Quotes, Open Projects, Web Leads, Exhibition Leads, Key Accounts and Customer Visits.
- Pursue all potential business opportunities in a timely manner.
- Make detailed call/visit reports and prospecting notes in the CRM (Salesforce) system.
- Understand customer application requirements and develop suitable solutions.
- Provide recommendations to customers regarding their harness or connector application requirements.
- Interface between the customer and our Product Design, Marketing, and Manufacturing Groups.
- Provide bookings forecasts for assigned accounts.
- Attend industry trade shows as directed by management.
Qualifications:
No expectations of showing up to an office every day, but candidates must be based in the Bay Area and willing to travel to accounts as needed.
- 1+ year of experience in B2B sales engineering (connectors, components, or related field) / Applications Engineering / OR Program Management
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Distribution, similar fields or equivalent experience
- Must be based in the Bay Area
- Willing to travel to accounts as needed
Nice to have:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software related to sales engineering
- Salesforce or related CRM experience
