Job Title:
Head Women's Field Hockey Coach
Physical Location:Kent Campus - Kent, OH
Salary:
Basic Function:
Provide leadership for the NCAA Division I intercollegiate women’s field hockey program. Administer and promote the program within the university’s mission. Assist in the development of Women’s Field Hockey as a Kent State varsity sport. Reports to Athletic Director or designated supervisor.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Provide leadership for the women’s field hockey team; establish coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop student-athlete skills and teamwork; analyze team performance and adjust strategies as needed.Oversee recruitment and retention of student-athletes.Develop policies and procedures for student-athletes and coaches.Administer program budget, analyze funding needs, and plan fundraising activities to subsidize athletic program.Develop strategies to foster athletic and academic progress of student-athletes; counsel and advise student-athletes.Perform marketing and public relations duties to promote the program.Provide direct supervision of assistant coaches and other assigned staff.Perform related duties as assigned, as permitted under NCAA and MAC rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field. Four years of progressively responsible coaching and/or playing experience in NCAA Division field hockey. Must be able to travel and to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge Of:
National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations
Skill In:
Public relations and/or marketing *
Training and/or instructing student-athletes *
Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication *
Personal computer applications, including MS Office Suite
Ability To:
Recruit, retain, counsel, and advise student-athletes *
Provide leadership and direction
Manage a budget and raise funds *
Analyze situations and develop solutions
Travel and work nontraditional hours *
