Job Description:

  • United Health System is seeking a highly qualified Administrative Supervisor - Intensive Care Unit to join our dynamic team in Arlington, WA. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the health and well-being of employees within various medical surgical settings. Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of a Administrative Supervisor:

  1. Supervision and Leadership: Provide leadership and supervision to ICU staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other support staff. Coordinate staffing assignments, schedules, and workflow to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care delivery.
  2. Resource Management: Manage ICU resources effectively, including equipment, supplies, and staffing resources. Collaborate with the ICU nurse manager or director to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to meet patient care needs.
  3. Patient Care Oversight: Oversee patient care activities within the ICU, ensuring adherence to established protocols, standards of care, and regulatory requirements. Monitor patient acuity levels and staffing ratios to ensure safe and efficient patient care delivery.
  4. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction within the ICU. Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
  5. Staff Development: Support the professional development of ICU staff through mentoring, coaching, and training initiatives. Provide guidance and feedback to staff members to promote clinical excellence and professional growth.
  6. Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among ICU staff, physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and other departments within the healthcare facility. Facilitate interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences to ensure comprehensive patient care planning and coordination.
  7. Emergency Response: Serve as a resource during medical emergencies and critical incidents within the ICU. Provide leadership and support to ICU staff during crisis situations, ensuring prompt and effective response to patient care needs.
  8. Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and professional standards of practice within the ICU.
  9. Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the ICU budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment expenses. Monitor budgetary performance and implement cost-saving measures as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • At minimum, Associates degree in nursing. BSN is preferred.
  • Current active Washington Registered Nurse license.
  • At minimum, current AHA and BLS Certification, required upon hire.
  • Significant clinical experience in critical care nursing, with demonstrated leadership and management experience in an ICU or similar acute care setting. Previous supervisory or administrative experience is preferred.
