Job description
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our construction team. As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for installing and repairing underground utility pipes, such as water, sewer, and drainage systems. The successful candidate will have experience in operating heavy machinery and possess a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate pipe alignment.
Responsibilities:
1. Lay out pipe routes, following established blueprints and specifications.
2. Dig trenches and excavate areas for pipe installation, using equipment such as backhoes and excavators.
3. Align and position pipe sections to create accurate slopes and grades.
4. Connect pipe sections using a variety of methods, including welding, gluing, and threading.
5. Install and adjust pipe supports and hangers to ensure stability and prevent sagging.
6. Inspect and test pipes for leaks or other defects, making necessary repairs.
7. Collaborate with other construction crew members to ensure efficient project completion.
8. Operate heavy machinery, including pipe-laying machines, to assist in the installation process.
9. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
10. Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Pipe Layer or similar role.
2. Must have own tools to take to jobsites as needed
3. Ability to interpret and follow blueprints and technical specifications.
4. Proficient in operating heavy machinery, such as excavators, backhoes, and pipe-laying machines.
5. Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions.
6. Must have driver license or State ID
