Job Summary
Inputs all purchase orders into the computer system, distributes, maintains, and files paperwork associated with work orders. Responsible for maintaining customer files. Opens, files and maintains mail in purchase orders.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Accurately inputs all purchase orders into the computer system, distributes paperwork associated with orders.
- Enters purchase orders into the computer system.
- Works with and sends purchase orders to Customer Service regarding questions about the orders.
- Attaches approved list of routes to items.
- Sends 1 st article orders to Quality Assurance.
- Prints and distributes orders.
- Files original purchase order in Shipping.
- Mail in purchase orders
- Collect mail in purchase orders from the Order Entry mailbox in the front office and in Customer Service.
- Check the computer system for the status of the order.
- Depending on the status of the order, either file in the open mail file or in a labeled banker box.
- Make revisions to orders as needed.
- Updates information for Order Entry Customer books.
- Print additional yellow inspection tags for the plant when requested.
- Train new personnel on Order Entry function.
- Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
Education/Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend and write English on documents such as work orders, safety instructions and dispositions of parts.
- Ability to speak English sufficiently to allow for adequate communications in emergencies and to allow for effective cooperation with team mates.
