As a Manager – Pricing and Profitability, you will assume the lead role supervising District Pricing, Inventory, and Commodity Buying functions; assist management with achieving sales, gross margin, gross margin rate (GMR) and overall profitability goals. You will manage pricing, oversee price execution, review and approve customer price discount requests; manage Special Pricing Agreement (SPA) renewals and negotiate cost levels, support sales force effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth, and serve as the District’s subject matter expert and leader for everything related to gross margin.
In this role you will:
Engage with Sales to drive results through data-driven pricing decisions that wins business; serve as expert for the Company’s service offering; understand the value added to customers, and work with Sales to develop pricing guidance for services
Manage customer pricing conditions according to Corporate and District policies, with emphasis on the accuracy of local market prices for top selling products
Achieve cost optimization via SPA analytics and maintenance
Conduct frequent training on pricing practices, procedures and strategies to improve profitability during regular visits to the branches; introduce new tools and techniques for pricing and lead change management efforts
Collaborate with Corporate Pricing about the District’s pricing strategy, processes, and priorities to ensure alignment and performance to achieve goals
Coordinate pricing, inventory management, and commodity buying to improve margins
What you bring to the table:
5 years relevant industry, pricing and inventory experience; strong leadership experience with proven track record; 6+ years experience preferred
4 year degree in Business-related discipline
Certified Pricing Professional designation
Extensive knowledge of the wholesale distribution industry
Extensive knowledge of pricing optimization software and customer segmentation
Ability to learn quickly and utilize new technology effectively
Advanced analytical, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
Advanced oral and written communication skills
Advanced organizational and leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead, influence, and supervise staff to achieve results through others
Advanced Microsoft Office, mathematical, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Occasional travel required
Pay details: The expected rate of pay for this position is $115,000 annually. This position is also bonus eligible, based on specific and relevant business metrics.
