We are currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join our team. This role will lead our organization to launch and execute key initiatives, project milestones, and skill set development throughout Apex to ensure we meet our internal and external commitments to our customers and shareholders.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the successful integration of new customers, initiatives, and projects into Apex.
- Ensure communication of all project expectations or changes to all required parties including, but not limited to, key project milestones and/or financial expectations.
- Ensure the project remains on track based on timelines; report and escalate as needed, starting at a detailed level and summarized at an executive/leadership level.
- Ensure communication is appropriate for both internal and external parties.
- Interact on a regular basis with customers, project managers and leaders throughout the business to deliver on the key projects and initiatives that tie to the annual budget and value creation process.
- Standardize project management tools and invest in skill set development throughout the organization.
- Lead effective meetings with clearly outlined meeting objectives, attendees, action item lists and follow up / execution.
- Effectively add value and manage customer expectations throughout all project processes.
- Onboard new customers in alignment with the Apex value proposition & drive overall satisfaction.
- Provide the customer with proactive information concerning any and all pertinent risks and Apex constraints and recommend solutions related to all projects.
- Determine ways of improving the customer experience by providing and facilitating feedback between team members and customers.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by intentionally providing consistent follow-through and determining ways to improve tools and processes.
- Manage changes required by customers through our change control process.
- Ensure all project learnings are incorporated into standard Project Management work processes (resulting in continuous improvement).
Direction and oversight: Lead an experienced team of 3 project managers
Basic Requirements
- 10-15 years of project management experience and the ability to execute as a part of the senior leadership team, as well as day-to-day execution of projects/initiatives.
- Prior experience managing teams or, at a minimum, mentoring full-time employees.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with business executives, as well as external clients.
- Manufacturing experience is required.
Preferred Requirements
- PMP certification or other formal project training or certification
- Experience with full-cycle product development, preferred in beauty, personal care, consumer products, or other packaged goods sectors.
Knowledge Requirements
This position requires experience managing cross-functional teams. Strong communication and organizational skills, including conflict management, are required for success in this position. This person must be able to positively affect change in a way that moves the business forward. Project management skills are critical, as is managing multiple manufacturing projects / key initiatives. Great communication skills, strong follow-through, ability to prioritize, and detail orientation are essential. Proven ability to be decisive, organized, detail-oriented, and effective at managing time across multiple tasks.
