Our Story:

1980, Roy Morgan founded Air Methods after a personal experience convinced him that properly equipped and staffed air medical service helicopters were a must. With one helicopter and a single hospital contract in Colorado, he pledged his commitment to safety and outstanding patient care. Today, we hold those same values and are always ready to respond when it matters most. Annually, we conduct around 100,000 transports amassing over 150,00 flight hours.

What you get to do:

 

As an Ops Support Specialist/Flight Controller, you will be responsible for driving and supporting the flight activity at Air Methods. You will provide surveillance and operational support for the flight crews to ensure safe completion of flight operations all over the United States.

 

• Monitor and oversee safe conduct of flight operations
• Monitor crew limits, currency requirements and aircraft status to ensure Federal Aviation Regulation
• Review all risk assessments with the pilot-in-command
• Report and record all irregularities involved in flight operations safety or emergency measures
• Analyze/evaluate meteorological information to identify potential hazards to flights
• Communicate information/data to the team and flight crews with urgency in mind
• Other Duties as assigned

What you will bring to the team:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years’ experience (within the last 5 years) in any one or a combination of the following:
  • Military aircraft operations as a pilot or meteorologist
  • Part 135 Air Ambulance Air carrier operations as a pilot (helicopter or airplane)
  • Air carrier operations as a certified aircraft dispatcher or meteorologist
  • Aircraft operations as an air traffic controller or flight service specialist
  • Air Ambulance Communication Center Flight Follower
• Thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
• Ability to successfully pass FAA mandated Drug and Alcohol Test

This position is subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per the DOT/FAA requirements (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post-accident).
