Job Summary
We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Greenhouse Technician, Plant Sampling & Maintenance. This position will be working in and out of a greenhouse performing following duties.
Job Description
- Sampling genetically engineered plant tissue for DNA and Protein testing in search of desired traits.
- Planting engineered cotton seeds and maintaining suitable conditions for proper growth.
- Preparing buffer solution to extract protein from cotton leaf.
- Assisting in plant selection, transplanting, plant placement, trellising, plant care, trashing plants, and cleaning.
- Candidates must work well with others, pay attention to detail, and be able to stand for long periods of time.
- The environment can be very hot when working in the greenhouse.
Skills Required
- Worked in a production facility (Nike, FedEx etc) tend to work well with sampling too.
Education/Training/Certification
- Recent college graduates with related major and those no degree but with related experiences in greenhouse or field.
Additional Requirements
- Medical Requirement: drug test
- Shift time: Monday through Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm (No OT or weekend expected)
Pay Rate
- Starting at $16 per hour and more depending on experience
