Pay: $37.75 - $43.07 hourly (* Pay range does not include (5) additional longevity steps beyond top of range. )
Schedule: Monday-Friday Day Shift (Occasional p lanned o vertime as neede d at one and half times rate)
FTE: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Our Mission. The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) is committed to preventing pollution and protecting the environment, including the region's most precious resource - Lake Superior. WLSSD treats all municipal and industrial sewage in the Duluth-Cloquet area.
What We Do. Founded as a special purpose unit of government created by the Minnesota Legislature in 1971 to address serious environmental pollution problems in the lower St. Louis River Basin , WLSSD provides wastewater and solid waste services and oversight for a 530 square mile region around Duluth, Minnesota .
WLSSD has approximately 100 employees ranging from technical jobs (Engineers, Chemists, Planners, IT professionals) to skilled trades (Treatment Plant Operators, Maintenance Millwrights, Electricians).

Join Our Team! WLSSD is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our team in Duluth, MN. The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical , Civil, Chemical or Electrical Engineering and four (4) years' post graduate engineering work experience. Registration as Professional Engineering (PE) in the state of Minnesota is also required.
The Senior Engineer is responsible for developing standards related to project development and management, provides technical engineering support to various operations to optimize system processes and assists with engineering analysis in support of capital project development and delivery. The Senior Engineer leads process improvement projects, manages capital project budgets and schedules and coordinates work performed by contractors, consultants and WLSSD.
The ideal Senior Engineer will have advanced knowledge of recognized and acceptable engineering standards and practices and the ability to interpret construction plans and specifications. The ability to effectively communicate with others and developing good working relationships is also key in this role.
