Job description
D ean’s Professional Services is now hiring for a qualified, patient-care-focused Phlebotomist II to work for a Lab in Cumming GA.

Phlebotomist II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner.
Phlebotomist Job Responsibilities:
Perform blood draws competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
Utilize standard procedures to identify the patient, record appropriate collection information, label and record all test tubes, log procedures and enter specimen data into computer system
Performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
Always follows standard precautions. Routine handling of biohazardous and or chemical hazardous material.
Perform verification of patient demographic info/ initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence.
Communicate issues and concerns to the Phlebotomy Supervisor.
Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high- volume setting
Comply with all safety policies.
Dispose of all sharp instruments in the sharp container.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, company and department policies, procedures and regulations.
Phlebotomist Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
2 years of phlebotomy experience is required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience.
Ability to provide quality, error free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and required to cover at Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Phlebotomist Job Details:
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8 am-1pm.
Starting at: $16.-$18.00/hr. (Based on experience) + benefits
