Job description

STS is seeking an experienced Parts Counter Salesperson, this person will also be cross-trained in Back Parts Counter responsibilities. This is a full-time position and pay will be competitive based on education-level and experience.

STS Trailer, Truck, and Equipment was founded in 1949. It is a family-owned and operated company with full sales, service, and parts facilities across Upstate New York. STS carries a complete line of tractor-trailers, heavy and light-duty truck equipment, Kalmar Ottawa Yard Trucks, and an expansive selection of parts inventory to fit the needs of its customers. We have branches in Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany New York and Selinsgrove Pennsylvania.

Front Parts Counter Responsibilities:

· Service walk-in customers and handle incoming parts department phone calls fulfilling order inquiries and requests accurately and promptly

· Perform daily phone marketing to current customer base to increase sales

· Complete special orders for customers and other departments

· Maintain lobby and entrance areas to keep fully stocked and cleaned

· Coordinate schedule with parts driver for any parts that need to be picked up or delivered

· Monitor inventory items with high turnover rates and advise Director of Purchasing when ordering is necessary

· Assist with warehouse duties as-needed and other departmental responsibilities as assigned

· Must be comfortable making proactive inside sales calls to existing and prospective customers

Back Parts Counter Responsibilities:

· Distribute parts to mechanics during workday as needed at service counter

· Update each work order at the time parts are handed to mechanics

· Order and create purchase orders for special order parts. Obtain competitive quotes and arrange appropriate shipping

· Analyze customer-approved estimates in coordination with service manager for future work to anticipate parts needs and schedule appropriate delivery times

Qualifications

· Heavy Duty Parts Sales or Auto Parts Sales. Inventory Management experience preferred

· Strong Customer Service and Computer Skills are a must!

· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is needed

· Experience with CDK Drive or a comparable Dealer Management System a plus
