Intro:
ST Engineering iDirect, Inc. is a global leader in IP-based satellite communications, providing technology and solutions that enable our partners to deploy advanced satellite services that profitably expand their businesses. The awesome and friendly Global Technical Publications (TechPubs) team, one of the many teams that make up the Global Engineering department, are seeking curious and detail-oriented summer interns to join our talented team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects aimed at improving our technical documentation and content management processes.
Potential Projects:
- Technical Documentation Development: Create and update technical documentation content using various authoring tools, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
- Technical Writing for API Documentation: Document APIs, class functions, and GUI-based systems, requiring an understanding of virtual computing, networking concepts, and familiarity with issue-tracking software.
- Customer-Facing Documentation Portal Organization: Improve the quality and accessibility of our technical documentation by reorganizing content into pre-defined categories, ensuring proper categorization, removing duplicates, and updating previous document revisions.
- Content Migration: Reuse existing content from various authoring tools (e.g., FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, MS Word, HelpServer, or PDF) to other tools to enable the team to more efficiently author and publish the content (e.g., Confluence, MadCap Flare, etc.).
- Editing and Quality Assurance: Review, edit, and proofread technical documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality, following company and industry-specific style guides.

Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Technical Writing, Communication, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
