Job Summary - Provides assistance with coordination and promotion of programs and activities hosted by the New Neighbors Education Center.
- Works closely with the Director of the NNEC, and IU Southeast Marketing, IT and Accounting staff to implement, promote and market planned activities, and to ensure that reporting requirements are met.
- Supports the NNEC Director with planning, implementing, monitoring, and marketing of NNEC programs including coordination with relevant campus departments including Marketing and IT
- Assists the NNEC Director with the development of new programming including family and youth programs for culturally and linguistically diverse members of our community.
- Curates information on and assist in establishing partnerships with community services available for English as a second language speakers and recent immigrants.
- Writes and edits content for different platforms such as social media, website, and press releases, in conjunction with the appropriate IUS offices
- Organizes and maintains NNEC materials and supplies.
- Teams with the NNEC Director to organize and coordinate events such as conferences, webinars, and professional development opportunities at the university and with NNEC partners including
- Coordinates scheduling, meeting space, parking, hospitality, and other needs for meetings and events with appropriate IUS offices.
- Researches cost, attaining quotes, budgeting, and initiating payment for needed supplies and providers (presenters, facilitators, etc.), for meetings, events, and other activities in coordination with appropriate IUS offices.
- Attends meetings and programs and providing event support.
- Coordinates photography/video for events and/or taking photos to document activities.
Qualifications EDUCATION
Required - Bachelor's degree in related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required - Experience in program development and event management
SKILLS
Required - Experience working with the culturally and linguistically diverse community
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of relevant marketing tools and applications (social media platforms)
Preferred Working Conditions / Demands Modest physical effort is required; Must be able to mentally concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously and re-prioritize to meet existing demands.

Advertised Salary $20.00 per hour
Work Hours The NNEC Coordinator will work 15-25 hours per week. Hours are flexible. Some weeks may require more hours than others depending on NNEC programming and events. Please submit a resume and hours of availability.
