SIGN TECHNICIAN

Supervises: N/A

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

At Michigan Highway Signs, the role of the Sign Technician is an essential part of producing signs to be installed in road construction projects. We look to our technicians to know how to maintain and operate operations. Technicians are also expected to prepare their work area and prepare the final products for transportation. Our Technicians should lead by example and uphold the mission and vision of Michigan Highway Signs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, climb, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, view, and create written documents. The employee uses hand strength to grasp tools and climb ladders or uneven terrain. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, such as operating and repairing vibrating machinery, using wrenches, hand tools, etc., and operating motorized equipment and vehicles. The employee must lift or push/pull objects up to 75 lbs. without assistance, occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works inside and outside near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
