The General Counsel is responsible for overseeing the legal function on a global basis. The General Counsel reports to the CEO and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. As top in-house legal executive, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to, global responsibility for or management of all legal functions, to include corporate governance, compliance, employment law, commercial transactions, intellectual property (including patents and trademarks), M&A, litigation, privacy, and antitrust. The General Counsel provides senior management and the Board of Directors with effective legal counsel on company strategies and their implementation, manages the legal function, assesses and manages risk, and serves as the Corporate Secretary.
