Trauma Ctr Injury Prevention Coordinator RN
Under the supervision of the trauma program manager overall responsibilities include coordinating injury prevention programs planning and implementing tasks providing injury prevention education and conducting evaluations and reports to assess quality and performance of injury prevention programs. As part of the trauma team expectations include overall support as needed with performance improvement and registry.
Responsibilities - Promotes community awareness of the trauma system as well as injury prevention. Participates with community wide
trauma education and injury prevention programs for both hospital and the public. This will require occasional weekends
and flexibility with schedule and work location. - Functions as a designated injury prevention spokesperson for injury prevention.
- Develops, plans, and implements injury prevention programs and outreach activities using evidence based research when
available. - Actively participates in local, state, and national injury prevention and wellness events in the network, public/private
agencies and organizations. - Assists in developing policies and practices with specific emphasis on safety.
- Trains and educates health care professionals and the community in injury prevention.
- Appropriately monitors and evaluates successful implementation of injury prevention plan
- Identify high rates of injury and the populations in which the injuries occur. Target the at-risk populations and run reports to
collect, and analyze data for evaluation of current and future injury prevention efforts. - Develop operational tools necessary to achieve injury prevention objectives and services
- Prepare educational materials including reports, graphs, bulletins, visual aids, posters and photographs. Ensure all injury
prevention resources and equipment are stocked and available when needed.
Qualifications - Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Emergency Room or ICU Nurse and the last 2 years in a trauma center.
- Must be Graduate of an accredited Nursing School/Program.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Registered Nurse with current California License required.
- Current AHA BLS card required.
- ACLS; PALS within 90 days of hire
- LA City Fire Care required within 90 days of hire.
- TNCC within 6 months of hire
