Job description

Position: Radiologic Technologist 
Location: San Diego, CA

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our healthcare team. The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiologic techniques, equipment operation, and patient care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and fluoroscopy, following established protocols and physician orders.
  2. Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
  3. Position patients correctly and operate imaging equipment to capture high-quality images of the specified area.
  4. Monitor patients during procedures and make adjustments as necessary to obtain optimal images.
  5. Review images for quality and accuracy, ensuring all necessary anatomical structures are visible and properly exposed.
  6. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and provide diagnostic information.
  7. Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging studies, patient history, and procedure documentation.
  8. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols related to radiation exposure and patient care.
  9. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of imaging equipment, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel.
  10. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding imaging procedures, risks, and aftercare instructions.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
  2. Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  3. State licensure or certification as required by the state regulatory agency.
  4. Strong knowledge of radiologic techniques, equipment operation, and patient positioning.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  6. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in documentation and image quality.
  7. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  8. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with digital radiography and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) technology.
  2. Additional certification or training in specialized imaging modalities, such as CT or fluoroscopy.
  3. Prior experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
