Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Alexandria, VA (some remote work allowed)

Clearance: Secret preferred, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret

Overview: The Accounting Manager is an essential part of the company's financial management team, overseeing organizational systems for gathering data, analyzing information, confirming the accuracy of their staff's reports, and providing recommendations for improving accounting methods. Qualified candidates must have a thorough knowledge of all financial operations at the company and how they work together, including debts, assets, cash forecasting, payroll, capital assets and revenue analysis. Responsible for will managing a small staff of accounting professionals that manage the day-today accounts payable, billing, and expense reimbursement.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the A/R and A/P processes
• Assist with audits (internal, external and DCAA)
• Ensure that invoicing and receivables are done in a timely manner
• Coordinate with the contracts department for contract compliance
• Perform corporate financial activities in monthly closing and producing monthly packages for reviews
• Coordinate and provide regular updates to vendors, consultants, federal, state & local entities
• Lead the preparation process of the annual operating budget
• Provide monthly financial reports and updates to the CEO and corporate leadership
• Mentor junior staff as necessary
• Complete ad hoc projects as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
• Must have 7+ years of hands-on accounting experience, financial documentation preparation, and financial reporting at a corporate level
• A minimum of 5 years working in an accounting role at a defense contractor is a must
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP and FAR
• Well-versed with general ledger (GL) transactions and capital expenditures (Capex)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• US citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
