Job description
Our client, a successful financial technology and services company, currently seeks a detail-oriented candidate to serve as a Network Security Engineer. In this position, you would work with senior technical network and leadership teams to provide scalable, consistent, and secure solutions across multiple different types of firewalls and network infrastructure, in both private and public clouds.
Responsibilities:
- Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Meraki, Citrix, NetScaler, Software Defined Networks (SDN), VPN.
- Attend regular infrastructure meeting with Senior technical staff.
- Ensure timely roll out and client sign off on new implementations.
- Participate in periodic DR testing, provide immediate response for any critical issues, ensure the network is operating securely, highly available and meeting all SLAs with clients.
- Work with senior technical network and leadership teams to provide scalable, consistent, and secure solutions across multiple different types of firewalls and network infrastructure, in both private and public clouds.
- Create and maintain network diagrams.
- Configure and manage MPLS/VPN solutions to provide secure remote access for employees, clients, and partners.
- Work on the design and deployment of Software Defined Networks, optimizing performance and security.
- Participate in weekly working group status calls with infosec and infrastructure working groups as needed. Participate in daily infrastructure meeting held at EST afternoons.
- Flexibility to participate in on call support some weeknights and weekends where needed for implementation checkout or triage.
- Conduct regular training sessions for the IT team and relevant stakeholders on compliance requirements.
- Foster a culture of compliance awareness to ensure all team members understand their roles in maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Actively participate in industry forums and stay informed about evolving compliance standards.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the organization's ability to meet and exceed compliance requirements.
- Ability to utilize Visio and or other presentation software to produce topological diagram of infrastructure. This will support creating of client specific Runbooks.
Requirements:
- Computer Science BS/Engineering.
- 5-7 years of proven experience as a Network Security Engineer in private datacenters and cloud environments.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions.
- Routing-Knowledge of BGP & OSPF routing protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Meraki, Citrix NetScaler, MFA access, SDN, VPN, and Cloud security.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and familiarity with CrowdStrike, SecureWorks and industry’s best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in financially regulated environments (SEC, OCC, Federal Reserve, FINRA, SOC 1 and SOC 2, etc.) preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or cloud-specific certifications (AWS Certified Security) would be advantageous.
