Position Summary/Description:

The Development Associate supports the Development office, the North Carolina Botanical Garden Foundation and the Director of Development of the North Carolina Botanical Garden.

The Development Associate supports the overall unit Development activities, including membership and gift processing, as well as administrative support of the Director of Development. In addition to these duties, this position serves as the liaison to the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Botanical Garden Foundation ( NCBGF ). In the liaison role, the associate facilitates the operation of the NCBGF by coordinating Board and Membership meetings, committee meetings, conferences, and retreats, while also preparing meeting agendas, minutes and summaries for timely dissemination.

The Development Associate also serves as an organizer for NCBG / NCBGF fundraising and development events, including coordinating the logistics of special events (catering, entertainment, decorations, nametags, etc.), and helps negotiate contracts with vendors.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
