Job description

WTSP-TV, the TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in Tampa, FL is seeking an energetic and ambitious Associate Producer to join our award-wining team.


The ideal candidate will be a passionate storyteller with a desire to help create informative, engaging & memorable newscasts. This associate producer must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be up to date on the latest trends and tapped into what's happening in the Tampa Bay community.


This position requires skilled writing and attention to detail. Candidates must understand the importance of accuracy and urgency in a daily newscast.



Responsibilities:

• Write accurate, informative stories for newscasts with strong viewer value in an exciting, captivating, and conversational tone
  
  
• Coordinate writing and editing of scripts that mix video, sound and graphics to enhance storytelling
  
  
• Create high-quality video content for broadcast and online platforms.
  
  
• Work and collaborate with editors & producers
  
  
• Manage in-studio guests and clients upon their arrival, as needed
  
  
• Use social media to find new content and enterprise stories
  
  
• Develop and pitch original story ideas for coverage
  
  

Requirements:

• Broadcast writing & editing experience on the professional or collegiate level
  
  
• Sharp social media skills
  
  
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
  
  
• Must be able to multitask and manage time accordingly
  
  
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities
  
  

Work Environment: Office

Physical Demands: Sedentary work

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
