Description:

The Custom Furniture Designer works with staff and clients to conceptualize products, create renderings/drawings, construction documents, and water jet cut files to support the fabrication of custom industrial-style furniture and accessories. 

Responsibilities: 

• Design custom metal and wood furniture, within customer’s specifications and budget 
• Produce clear, detailed drawings to facilitate effective communication of our designs with the client
• Conceptualize and design parts for manufacturing
• Perform responsibilities in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to individual and team production schedules
• Collaborate with team and suppliers to optimize product production to meet margin and schedule objectives
• Assist in establishing brand direction by assessing company and market trends and communicating to the team

Experience and Education Required:

• Minimum of three years industrial graphic design experience
• Proficient in the use of 3D design programs (e.g., Solid Works) 
• Experience a plus, but not required - Rhinoceros,  Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Photoshop CC 
• Previous customer service experience
• Knowledge and experience with metal fabrication

• Excellent attention to detail and effective time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Strong focus on quality and attention to detail

Working Conditions: 

This position primarily works in an office environment.  This position is occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift up to 60 lbs.  May be required to stand on feet for lengthy periods of time.  This position may be exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
