National Traveling AV Technician

Job description

Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled AV Install Technician with a passion for audiovisual technology and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, travel-intensive role. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in installing and configuring audiovisual systems and will be comfortable traveling nationally to client sites for installations, upgrades, and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

1. On-Site Installations: Travel to client locations across the country to install, configure, and commission audiovisual systems, including displays, projectors, audio systems, and control systems.
2. System Integration: Integrate AV components and systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality and user experience.
3. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to AV systems during installations or service calls.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, clients, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
5. Documentation: Create detailed documentation of installation processes, configurations, and system settings.
6. Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of AV systems to ensure they meet quality standards and client requirements.
7. Training: Provide training to end-users on the operation and maintenance of installed AV systems.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or coursework in AV technology is a plus.
2. Proven experience as an AV Install Technician
3. Strong knowledge of audiovisual systems, including video conferencing, control systems, and networking.
4. Proficiency in using AV installation tools and equipment.
5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice.

Preferred Skills:

1. Industry certifications such as AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or similar.
2. Familiarity with a variety of AV control systems and software.
3. Experience with video conferencing platforms and unified communications.
