Brown & Brown is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our growing team in Daytona Beach! This individual develops dashboards and reports for trending and analysis of specific business objects & processes. The Financial Analyst must be able to work in a team environment and possess a strong independent work ethic, have excellent computer and presentation skills, be a critical thinker, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts, etc.) considering the company's goals and financial standing.
- Drive critical and complex analysis and reporting of financial and operational variances to both budget and forecast.
- Directly manage monitoring, reporting, and analyzing of monthly financial month-end packages.
- Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
- Quickly respond to ad hoc queries from internal customers (senior/executive management).
- Evaluate the performance of our top customers and support senior leadership's efforts to create new incentive agreements in order to drive profitable growth.
- Partner with data & analytics team in the development of new reporting needed to provide further insights into our business performance.
- Create weekly revenue reports to provide senior leadership with an accurate view of variance to budget.
- Assist with creation of PowerPoint presentations to senior leadership for both internal and external purposes that bring the data to life through compelling visualizations.
- Create month-end journal entries for the division that get allocated down to the individual branch level.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- 3+ years progressive work experience in financial analysis and budgeting.
- Highly proficient in Excel modeling, PowerPoint, MS Word, and financial software applications.
- Experience with Workday, and Power BI is a plus.
- Ability to cleanse and analyze large datasets in order to find trends and draw conclusions.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills.
