Job description

Turner Industries' Personnel Office is looking for a Clerk in Decatur, AL.

General Job Description:
Provides general clerical support, documentation, checking and assistance in office and/or field areas.


Functional Requirements:
Performs basic clerical functions including filing, copying, binding reports, typing and checking
documentation, invoices, correspondence, etc.; handles, sorts, distributes, delivers and picks up mail;
proofreads records or forms; operates business machines such as calculators, typewriters, computers,
facsimile machines, copiers, etc.; receives and coordinates storage of packages, office supply
deliveries, etc.; may answer, screen and direct telephone calls; may compile and prepare various
reports; may coordinate and process general administrative work, for example, time sheets, vacation
requests, supply requisitions, etc.; performs additional assignments as required.

Qualification Standards:
• Minimum one (1) year of experience or equivalent combinations of experience and training
• Knowledge of business machines, computers and/or menu driven applications
• May be required to have knowledge of computer software such as Wordperfect, Lotus, dBase, Harvard
Graphics, Excel, Word, Windows and other various software
• Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.
• Post offer drug screen and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Group, LLC. Drug, Alcohol and
Contraband Policy
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others
in the work place


Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating
objects and machines; lifting from ground level, waist lever, and/or overhead; carrying objects, etc.;
standing; sitting; walking; bending; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without
correction; following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; repeating
tasks of short duration; following oral and/or written directions; reading; writing; ability to recognize
and report safety hazards.


Mental Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic
mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding
differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid
objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral
and/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety
hazards.

Work Environment Factors:
• Location: industrial construction sites and/or office environment
• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways
• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately indoor climate; various noise levels
caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
