The Springdale Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Entry Level Firefighter/EMT"s and Firefighter/Paramedics until 4pm CST on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022.
Classification: Entry Level Firefighter/EMT and Firefighter/Paramedic
Salary Information: Annual starting salary: $39,347 for FF/EMT and $47,243 for FF/Paramedic
Benefit Information: Health, Dental, Vision, LOPFI retirement, Optional Deferred Compensation Plans, Uniforms provided, Optional Supplemental Insurance Plans, and Holiday Pay.

2.Register for a FireTEAM test through the National Testing Network (NTN) at nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/. During the registration process, select 'Springdale Fire Department' to receive your test results.
3.Successfully pass a CPAT exam and upload your card with your application. CPAT results are good for one year and must be current at the time of hire. Our local CPAT is administered by the Northwest Arkansas Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association: Apply with Get.It Candidates also have the ability to complete their CPAT certification through any certified IAFF/IAFC organization including but not limited to the National Testing Network.

Department Overview: We are a full service municipal department that responds to: Fire, EMS, Haz-Mat, and Technical Rescue emergency events. Springdale Fire Department and its members strive for excellence in all we do. We"re proud to say that our department has an ISO Class 1 rating and is a CFAI & CAAS Accredited department. We are involved in community risk reduction and public education events. We work 48/96 shifts which means you will work 48 hours on-duty and then have 96 hours off. Our fire, EMS, and rescue coverage area is 50 square miles. Our department responds to approximately 9,200 calls per year. We staff 9 stations with a total of 149 uniformed personnel and 8 civilian employees.

Job Requirements
Age: 18 to 34 years of age unless one or more of the exceptions outlined in Ark. State Code 14-51-301(b)(1)(C)(i) is met.
US Citizen: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid ARKANSAS State Driver"s License: Yes/or able to obtain upon hire
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: Correctable to 20-20 per NFPA Standard 1582.
Necessary Certifications: Nothing required, but EMT certification preferred.
Schooling: 1. Prior to Hiring: High School Diploma or GED
2. Post Hiring: Firefighter I & II Certifications, Haz-Mat Awareness & Operations, and Arkansas EMT License (Post hiring education is provided by SFD, if needed.)
Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Any felony conviction related to drugs or crimes against a person.
Driving Disqualifiers: One DWI conviction within past 13 months or more than one DWI.
Drug Use Disqualifiers: Any felony conviction or failing a pre-employment drug screen.
Additional Disqualifiers: If you are found to be falsifying any information on your application, you will be disqualified from employment.
