WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Project Specialist in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.
Job Summary
Seeking an analytical individual with finance, accounting or utility operations experience to analyze and interpret data to forecast financial impact and perform cost allocations. The Project Specialist has responsibilities with the State Regulatory Affairs department. Acts as a technical expert in financial analysis of underlying regulatory matters. Will represent the company to regulators on varying issues which have a significant impact.
This position is part of a job family (Project Specialist 1, Project Specialist 2, Project Specialist 3, Senior Project Specialist). Experience will be the determining factor. A hybrid work arrangement (remote/in office) may be available for this position.
Job Responsibilities
Design and construct technical cost allocation models used in regulatory proceedings
Support the development of applications to be presented to regulatory agencies for major initiatives / projects
Oversee the collection of historical economic data and forecasts from various corporate users (e.g. Supply Chain, Finance, CO, CS) and use that data to develop forecasted cost allocations
Interface on an as needed basis with other utilities and regulatory bodies in the furtherance of developing initiatives, responding to regulatory requirements and developing effective working relationships
Represent the company as a witness in regulatory proceedings
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Economics
1 years of experience in utility operations or related field preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, load research, forecasting, cost allocation modeling etc.
Proficient in using computer information systems with large amounts of data
Ability to work on multiple projects/priorities simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Understanding of finance and accounting principles
