Description:
TIG welding of stainless steel exhaust systems 1/8" to 1/2" thick. They support the automotive(Ford, GM, Toyota) and heavy duty industries(Caterpillar), some exhaust systems are 1"-2" tubes and some are 7" wide. Production welding of these exhaust systems and repair welding from robotic welds that aren't perfect after coming off the machine.
-This position will be a production welder, not fabrication. Primarily this individual will perform manual welding functions fully independently, however when demand for manual welding is lower, will be expected to run a robotic weld machine, and may also be trained to troubleshoot robotic weld machines and train operators on the robotic weld machines.
-Operates, sets and maintains manual production welding equipment used for the joining of metal components using defined welding processes to meet customer specification while monitoring quality, processing paperwork, and maintaining the work area. Meets fast-paced production requirements.
1st Shift:
Monday - Thursday 6am to 4pm; no overtime currently, but when they do it will be on Fridays (in past busy years, Monday - Friday 6am to 4pm)
2nd shift:
Monday - Thursday 4pm to 2am; no overtime currently, but when they do it will be on Fridays
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
- 2 years of TIG Welding
-1+ year of stainless steel welding
-1+ year of 1/8" material welding
-1+ year of blueprint reading
NICE TO HAVES:
- 3-5 years of TIG welding
- Robotics experience
