Job description

Position: Groundskeeper
Location: McMinnville
Experience: 6 months to 1 year in general labor, farming, gardening, nursery, or groundskeeping
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and care for University grounds using various landscaping tools and equipment.
Plant, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns, and vegetation.
Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides as needed.
Ensure sidewalks, walkways, driveways, and other features are well-kept.
Assist with irrigation methods and water consumption management.
Keep grounds litter-free through daily cleaning and composting.
Care for natural turf fields, including drainage and repair.
Handle snow/ice removal when necessary.
Participate in special events preparation and other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in landscape maintenance, preferably.
Effective communication skills.
Valid Oregon Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
Ability to follow instructions and attention to detail.
Teamwork and ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
Physical stamina for heavy labor.
Herbicide endorsement and/or applicator's license (or the ability to obtain one).
Physical Requirements:
Work outdoors with exposure to weather.
Frequent physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
Exposure to occupational hazards including noise, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and machinery.
