Requirements

What is the role of a Banks Construction Intern? An intern at BCC will gain in-depth exposure to multiple operations divisions throughout a custom, candidate-specific summer schedule.

What you will get to do: A successful candidate will spend significant time supporting multiple projects, working to improve safety culture, learning how we accomplish our goals through our core values, and supporting our Safety Department. Throughout the program, a BCC Intern will gain operational knowledge across our BCC Divisions including, but not limited to:

• Pre-Construction:      Estimating & Project Management
• Equipment      Division: Maintenance Shop
• Quality      Control
• Survey
• Asphalt      Plant Operations
• Asphalt      Paving Division
• Grading      and Utilities Divisions
• Marketing
• People      Group and onboarding

Who you are:

· Currently a college student pursuing a degree in OSH, ESH, ESG, or other qualifying degree programs interested in pursuing a career in the heavy civil construction industry.

· Having proficiency with MS Office Suite, with MS Excel knowledge.

• Interested      in the construction field with the understanding that this role will      require you to work in outside conditions around heavy equipment and      construction site environments.
• Organizational      skills and an eagerness to learn the construction industry.

What to expect?  

· Assist with New Employee Orientation

· Assist with JHA completion.

· Take inventory of PPE lockers once a week

· Train/assist supervisors on incident submission and creating safety meetings in XBE.

· Assist in action item follow-up from incidents created in XBE.

· Participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly meeting (as needed)

· Conduct/assist with jobsite safety walks and follow-up action items

· Assist with continuous improvement initiatives

· Attend Crew Huddle meetings and provide help/feedback 

· Complete any other task assigned by direct supervisor
